Looking for a politically oriented internship placement? Would you like to work in the field of International Relation, public policy, government or law? There's no better global city than Brussels (Belgium) to witness the interplay between governments, economic systems, labor, and multinational corporations in the midst of the ever-changing international landscape.
We will find you a 3 month internship in most policy fields or in an aid organization or NGO. There are many different industry associations too, providing possibilities to work in the politics of finance, media, health, energy, heavy industry, food, ecology, pharmaceuticals, transport, etc.
Why Brussels? Brussels is the center of the European Commission and the EU Council of Europe, and the main focus of activity of the European Parliament. It is also home to the political arm of NATO and the corporate headquarters of many multi-national firms. Innumerable humanitarian organizations have Belgian representations.
Known as the "Capital of Europe", Brussels is nevertheless not a big metropolis. It is a modern city, with a completely international flavor which is still very humanistic and down-to-earth. The efficient metro system owes its existence to the establishment of so many international organizations, but in spite of these, the city has managed to retain its essential smallness and is an easy and comfortable place in which to live. Belgium has possibly the highest "quality of life" in the world, as testified by its excellent food, housing, health care, education, music culture and infrastructure. Officially a constitutional monarchy the deep-rooted democratic attitude of the Belgians is illustrated, on an economic plane, by the fact that Belgium has the lowest percentage of poor people in the world.
The Belgians themselves are renowned as good-natured and fun-loving people. They like to live well, eat and drink well, and the quality of their beer and their chocolate is testimony to this!
