  • Institute for Education in International Media's Mission Statement

The mission of ieiMedia is to help students create diverse media portfolios that will mark them as "new journalists" for the "new media." We do this abroad in order to sensitize the students to other cultures and prepare them for the more global and entrepreneurial media environment that now awaits them. We give students an opportunity to break out of higher eds usual media silos and flex their abilities across several media disciplines. Most of all, we provide a deeper professional experience than would be available in most internships. By treating students like professionals and colleagues, our aim is to encourage independent thinking and action to raise students to the level of performance expected by most employers.
