The Project

"IT" in the modern sense first appeared in a 1958 article published in the Harvard Business Review, in which authors Leavitt and Whisler commented that "the new technology does not yet have a single established name. We shall call it information technology."

IT spans a wide variety of areas that include but are not limited to things such as processes, computer software, computer hardware, and data constructs. In short, anything that renders data, information or perceived knowledge in any visual format whatsoever, via any multimedia distribution mechanism, is considered part of the domain space known as Information Technology (IT)

Our Information Technology internships have two tracks.

TRACK ONE:

Work with a leading information technology company that works with businesses or is a major department within a large business to fulfill their IT needs and functions.

TRACK TWO:

Work for a smaller professional organization typically in eco-tourism, social media, environmental conservation, social services, or a topic of your interest. You are assigned to their IT department and assist in all the functions that allow them to communicate effectively with clients, the media, and the public.

In your brief letter of intent on the I.C.E.Application form, please be sure to indicate the source of your interest in this position, what you hope to contribute to the program indicated, and what you hope to learn or experience through your internship - this letter of intent will be distributed to internship providers. In addition, be sure to submit a resume or acceptable equivalent indicating any relevant knowledge or skills.
