Volunteer at Coastal Rural Hospital Sri lanka
Sri Lanka: Kosgoda, Rural Areas
1-2 Week, 2-4 Week, 5-8 Week, 9-12 Week
Medics of all types who can help out in a facility low on staff. Most of the care is basic nursing and assisting the Doctor with his daily duties. The atmosphere is relaxed yet busy. English spoken by some staff is only very basic and volunteers will be given a full induction and time to settle with a program on arrival with the guidance of our local staff who are well connected with the hospital.
Nurses, Doctors or any type of medic who wants to experience daily hands on in a rural Asian hospital will find this truly rewarding experience. The hospital desperately needs volunteers every day who would make an enormous difference for the time they stay. Volunteers can also choose the hours of work to suit as all our programs are custom made. That also means our programs can be combined with a beach holiday or alternative projects giving you maximum flexibility.

Inspire also offer hotel accommodation at the beach resort close to the projects so volunteers can take a meaningful holiday by volunteering at our placements in the morning and enjoying free time in the afternoons to relax.
- People from a medical / nursing background. Nurses in training to fully qualified Doctors are most welcome.
- Health Care
Despite having just 30 beds, the lack of trained staff in this hospital make it a great experience for a medic seeking to be able to impact a local community from the outset. The hospitals hygiene standards are very poor and volunteers can engage in re-education programs with existing staff if they wish as we encourage volunteers to be resourceful, flexible and inventive. Sri Lankan people are truly hospitable and will provide volunteers with an unforgettable time and the opportunity for the personal experience they desire. Our projects are the real deal.
