Founded in 1986, The Indian Social Service Institute (ISSI) is a non-profit organization inclined in providing voluntary services responding to drought in Pudukottai in Tamilnadu State, South India. The institute is composed of committed professionals and volunteers focused in organizing activities designed to help develop a better life for the community, women, children, and environment.
ISSI aims to provide projects supporting and promoting environmental awareness, women empowerment, child labour elimination, and establishing formal and non-formal educational programs for all.
Some of the projects implemented by the institute are:

*Water & sanitation facilities in villages and small towns
*Community based rehabilitation for disabled and old-aged people
