Canterbury Christ Church University has four departments: Arts and Humanities, Business, Health, and Education. Students going to Canterbury are able to take any course for which they meet the requirements, but many of these courses will have to be newly articulated. For more information on this process, please read the section at the beginning of this guide entitled "Getting Credit for Study Abroad." Canterbury has strong programs in Criminal Justice, Business, Media Production, and Art. Classes are generally Monday-Friday, with the majority of classes Monday through Wednesday.
Students in the Canterbury program will live in any one of the university housing facilities, which are set up in sections of 4-5 single bedrooms with a shared kitchen area. There is free internet access in the rooms, and students are encouraged to bring their laptops, although there is a 24 hour-access computer lab on campus. International students are generally housed in the same area together with some British students. Participants will be furnished with a declining balance meal card (SMART Card), similar to the one used at ISU.
