  • Description

    The intern would arrive at work at 9am, and the day would be very busy. The day would involve researching aid projects, NGOs and a multitude of different cultural issues in Ghana. Intern would have regular communication with Ghanians who are focused on creating a providing aid for those who need it most. The intern will be inspired by the enthusiasm of the many different individuals who are all focused on a common goal to improve the lives of the disadvantaged in Ghana and internationally. After a busy day, the intern would go home at around 6pm.

    Ikando helps organisations across Africa to access free development solutions enabling them to progress and achieve their ultimate aims. We provide consultancy services, skilled volunteers and a contact network to our partner organisations. These combined allow the nonprofit partner organisations to manage their affairs better, access different skill sets through the placement of volunteers and link up with other organisations of benefit to them.

    Though we recruit volunteers on behalf of other organizations and projects, we also require a few volunteers. All of our volunteer placements working directly for Ikando are free of charge.

    Available Positions:

    Web Developer: The website has been developed already, so this role is for someone who will be able to learn the dynamics of the website and fix problems that arise with the website's HTML.

    NGO Area Manager: NGO Area Managers correspond with NGOs in Ghana to find out about upcoming community aid projects, and motivate the development of networks among NGO members of Wishes Alliance.

    Data Analysis/Research Manager: This role involves researching issues in Ghana that require the aid of NGOs, compiling such information and formatting it to present to NGOs, businesses and volunteers.

  • Qualifications

    The ideal intern:
    - Speaks fluent English
    - Is comfortable in a corporate environment
    - Has good typing skills
    - Exhibits common sense
    - Is interested in the work of NGOs
    - Has an interest in helping people on a large scale
    - Loves to learn
    - Is proactive in their approach to business
    - NGO Area Manager: can think on his/her feet, is friendly, patient and has a background in sales
    - Web Developer: Has sound knowledge of web development and at least 3 years experience in a similar role
    - Administration: Has excellent typing skills, good organizational skills, sound management skills
