IISAC has developed a concurrent study program between two premier medical institutions in Madras, India - Madras Medical Mission and the Diabetes Research Center. This program is for medical students and undergraduate/graduate medical science majors.
A student will register for a maximum of six research or internship/clerkship credits within six or more weeks duration, between the Madras Medical Mission (Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases) and the Diabetes Research Center in Madras, India. As these institutions are at close proximity, a student can be trained simultaneously in Cardiac and Diabetic Medicine. This is a convenient system for students to make use of the medical resources of these two famous and unique medical institutions in South Asia.
Deadline for Registration: 1 month prior to the start of program
Credits Earned: Maximum of 6 credits
Course Timing: Rolling admissions
Student's Evaluation: Evaluation is based on clinical performance and written exam.
Duration: 6+ weeks total at the two institutions
For Undergraduate students. Junior and Senior standing, Biology or Pre-medicine majors, Completion of minimum 60 undergraduate credits in university is mandatory
For Medical Students. Completion of second year medical school in USA, The results from Step 1 of the USMLE.
