Description

Much of Old England remains: Stonehenge, Roman baths, even a bit of Sherwood Forest. The majesty of the "sceptred isle" still shows in the Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament, and Buckingham Palace. The sun has set on the British Empire but not on its legacy of world travel, cultural diversity, and international law and commerce.

The IES Abroad programs in England draw on London and Oxford's rich resources -- museums, theaters, historic sites, and architectural landmarks -- to offer high-quality academic study with a strong experiential component.

IES internships are offered as academic options earning IES credit with a strong academic component that includes an academic seminar, tutorial, or directed independent study, and an evaluative report from the supervisor of the organization offering the internship. The tutor will assign readings in connection with the internship and will supervise the student's academic report. Each student must submit a major written project to the tutor at the end of the internship. A summary of the student's activities during the internship should be included as an addendum to the report. Internships available in the following disciplines: Political Science, Business, Education, Art and Museum, Media, and Theatre.
