IES (the Institute for the International Education of Students) has announced a new IES summer program in Melbourne beginning in the summer of 2002.

The city's mild climate encourages outdoor activities like cycling, rollerblading, and tennis year-round.

The University of Melbourne campus resembles a large American university campus. It includes a cinema, art galleries, a book shop, sports facilities, a coffee lounge, restaurants, and a travel agent, as well as other facilities. You will have access to the university's computer facilities and full borrowing privileges at the library.

Highlights

The IES Abroad Melbourne program is organized by the Australian Centre of the University of Melbourne, which is known as a leader in research and interdisciplinary teaching and has received national and international recognition for its work in developing Australian Studies.

All students will be housed in apartments located within a 15-minute walk to class and a 10-minute tram ride to the city center. Students share a fully-furnished apartment which includes a kitchen and common areas.

In addition to the three-day orientation trip (required for all students), IES Abroad Melbourne sponsors course-related field trips designed to enrich classroom learning.

All students take two courses, for a total of 6 credits.
