Since 1950, IES has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. A non-profit educational organization, IES offers high academic standards and extensive financial aid in almost 30 programs throughout the world.

The IES Abroad Paris Beginning Language Summer Program provides you with an outstanding opportunity to learn the French language while studying in one of the most famous cities in the world  even if you have never studied French before. There is no better place to spend the summer learning French than in Paris!

The program offers enrollment in IES Abroad courses, housing in homestays or apartments, field study opportunities, and field trips; you will have the opportunity to meet French and international students alike. Starting at the IES Abroad Center in the heart of the Left Bank, this program will help you to gain a meaningful cultural experience and a deeper knowledge of what it means to be a citizen of the world.

Highlights

The intensive six-credit French Language & Culture course allows you to immerse yourself in French language and culture learning. The course is taught in French by native faculty, with one course designed for students with no French language background, and a second for students who want to continue beginning-level studies. Courses incorporate field study throughout Paris, including visits to many art museums, and architectural and historical landmarks.

Additional exciting aspects of the program include:
- Live in apartments in a suburb on the western edge of Paris or with local Parisians in private homes throughout the city.
- Participate in field trips to places such as Normandy, Fontainebleau, and Vaux le Vicomte.
