Tokyo is a modern city of wonderful contrasts. Its dignified temples and shrines stand quietly in the shadows of massive skyscrapers. Tokyo's modernity and fast pace are somehow subdued by the serene charm of its many parks and the quiet courtesy of its people. Both energetic and graceful, Tokyo is a gateway to the fascinating culture of Japan.
The campus of Meikai University in Urayasu is home to the IES Abroad Tokyo Language Intensive program. Urayasu encompasses both a traditional fishing village and a reclaimed area featuring modern businesses, including the Tokyo Disney Resort.
You will benefit from both the old and the new of this area as you improve your Japanese through intensive language study, then join other IES Abroad students to study popular culture, history, politics, and arts in area studies courses.
A comprehensive Japanese language program, the IES Abroad Tokyo Language Intensive program requires a minimum of three semesters of college-level Japanese or the equivalent.
