Since 1950, IES has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. A non-profit educational organization, IES offers high academic standards and extensive financial aid in almost 30 programs throughout the world.
The IES Abroad Nagoya program offers you direct enrollment in Nanzan University and the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in Japanese culture and university life. You are encouraged to enroll in this highly-selective program for an academic year.
IES Abroad Direct Enrollment programs offer you the best of both worlds - independence and support by providing additional services that are not offered by the host university and are above and beyond what is expected.
* Directly enroll in Nanzan University, a distinguished private university with a Center for Japanese Studies that specializes in intensive Japanese language study as well as English-taught Japanese area studies courses.
* Benefit from exclusive student services available only to IES Abroad students in Nagoya.
* Participate in extraordinary IES Abroad field trips to destinations such as Hiroshima, Kyoto, Kanazawa, Nara, Mie, or Takayama.
* Live in a homestay with a Japanese family or in residence halls with Japanese students.
* Familiarize yourself with Nagoya and student services through a special IES Abroad orientation.
