Since 1950, IES has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. A non-profit educational organization, IES offers high academic standards and extensive financial aid in almost 30 programs throughout the world.

The world-renowned Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Musikverein, and the Staatsoper are just a few of the many leading institutions that help make Vienna a true city of music and make it the ideal location for an engaging study of Music History and Performance.

Starting at the IES Abroad Center in the Palais Corbelli in the very heart of Vienna, you will gain a meaningful cultural experience and a deeper knowledge of what it means to be a citizen of the world.

Highlights

The IES Abroad Vienna Summer Music Program is specially designed for Music Performance majors, but is also well suited for Music minors and other talented instrumentalists and vocalists. The program offers three components:

- Music History on a featured topic or period
- Performance Studies
- German language study at beginning and intermediate levels

You may opt to enroll in any two or all three program components and will be instructed by distinguished faculty members, drawn primarily from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and the University of Vienna.
