Through an extensive curricula and hands-on approach, this program introduces you to the many wonderful historic, artistic, and cultural opportunities the city offers. Classes at local universities, internships, housing with locals, and language partners also help you to integrate into daily life in Vienna and improve your German.

Starting at the IES Abroad Center in the Palais Corbelli in the very heart of Vienna, you will gain a meaningful cultural experience and a deeper knowledge of what it means to be a citizen of the world.

Offering both English- and German-taught courses, some offered at the Universitat Wien, the IES Abroad Vienna European Society & Culture program is ideal for students interested in studying the culture, history, and politics of a region that continues to play a major role on the world stage. The program brings over 60 years of experience to a variety of unique course options clustered into the following topics:

* European Cultural Heritage
* Personality, Perception, and Place

Students can select courses from across all clusters to develop an understanding of European society and culture from an Austrian perspective. Courses are available in Art History, Drama, History, Humanities, International Business, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Religious Studies, Social Sciences, and Women's Studies. These courses are taught by faculty from top European institutions.
