IES Abroad invites you to study abroad in Rabat, where, over the course of the summer, you will come to know the winding streets of Rabat's vibrant medina and the numerous cafés and boulevards of the city's modern Ville Nouvelle. Delve into the fascinating layers of this North African nation as you learn Arabic in courses at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. IES Abroad courses focus on North African and Islamic Studies and introduce you to the many forces influencing the history and culture of Morocco.
Gain a unique cultural perspective and integrate into the community by living with a local family in a homestay or with local and international students in a residence hall. Participate in IES Abroad field trips to locations throughout Morocco and attend cultural events such as the Festival of Rabat in July, during which Moroccans celebrate their culture with artists, musicians, and filmmakers from across Africa and the world. Coupled with a comprehensive orientation and IES Abroad staff support, this program will help you to gain a meaningful cultural experience and a deeper knowledge of what it means to be a citizen of the world.
