Description

Our methodology emphasizes the primacy of oral and conversational skills, organized in four levels: basic, beginners, intermediate and advanced. They are designed thinking in all kind of special requirements: professional seniors, training for teachers and volunteers NGO, preparation crash courses for travelers.

Groups are of 4 or less students by teacher. (1-2 is the average)

Grammar is explained in a understanding way that allows the students to discover by themselves the rules, before the teacher explains.

A. Regular Courses

- Beginner Level
Beginner's course I-III has been designed to provide an introduction to elementary Spanish. The primary objective of this course is to offer students the opportunity to acquire communication skills in what we call "Survival Spanish". Functions include: asking/giving directions, using appropriate greetings, introductions and courtesy expressions as well as being able to communicate in different situations such as visiting a bank, restaurant, or other public places. Furthermore students should be able to give their personal information, and talk about personal preferences and activities in growing details.
As a Beginning student, you will study basic sentence structures, learn everyday vocabulary and develop the ability to clearly communicate basic ideas in Spanish.

- Intermediate Level
The intermediate course is divided into Intermediate I, II & III and covers most grammatical structures, which will give students the tools needed to achieve more confidence and fluency when using the language. Students will learn these grammatical structures, while improving vocabulary, pronunciation, comprehension, as well as written and oral skills. At this level the students learn to use different compensation strategies to communicate their ideas when they do not know the exact structure or word that should be used. Students will also be able to hold conversations on various topics with native Spanish speakers, using the appropriate forms for each situation. This course emphasizes on Cultural aspects of the language and its real usage. Course emphasis is on culturally authentic reading and writing, along with continued development of listening/speaking competencies.

- Advanced Level
This course includes the study of advanced Spanish grammar I and II. The student should begin to master complex syntactical and morphological structures and special differences used in the language. In addition, the students will face current topics and conversations with a higher level of complexity and abstract thought in order to improve considerably in fluency and precision. This level includes cultural, social and historical aspects on different Hispanic speaking countries as a way to explain the relationship between language, history and culture. The objective of this course is the proficiency and fluency in the Spanish language. Furthermore, emphasis is placed on the comprehension and use of the language in unrehearsed situations in culturally appropriate ways.

Technical Courses:

- Spanish for Business Professionals
Addressed to: Managers, Seniors, Executives, accountants, bank employees, executive secretaries, management assistants and every one involved in the business world interested in communicate themselves appropriately.

Description: Consists in theoretical and practical classes with a tutor through books and customized literature; visits and field practice; interviewing professionals of your field. Activities planned and coordinated with the teacher.

Length: The complete program can be finished in 1 1/2 months (6 weeks), but it depends on the student's available time, his skills and goals among others.

- Spanish for Health Care Professional
Addressed to: Professionals and students of area of the health, non Spanish native speakers, General doctors, medic specialist in different branches of medicine, nurses, assistants, administrative personnel in institutions of health, medical visitors, professionals who work in companies that commercialize medical products.

Description: Its aim is to teach the students the basic vocabulary related with the Health Care area and also the cultural values that interfere with the interaction between health care professionals and Spanish native speakers patients, so they can communicate properly with their Hispanic patients and their families.

Length: The complete program can be finished in 2 months (8 weeks), but it depends on the student's available time, his skills and goals among others.

- Spanish for Law Professionals
Addressed to: Plaintiffs, judges, public prosecutors, district attorneys, counsel for the defense, lawyer assistants, notaries, public notaries, solicitors, barristers, union lawyers, general attorneys, counselors, criminal lawyers, corporate lawyers.

Description: The aim is to teach the students the basic vocabulary related to the law and law practice areas and also the cultural values that interfere with the interaction between law professionals and Spanish native speakers clients , so they can communicate properly with their hispanic clients and their families . The program is focused on the specific legal vocabulary , legal processes and procedures.

Length: From 4 to 8 weeks course (from 120 to 240 class hours +, internships, volunteering and interviews with Laws professionals, Court observation visits). It is possible to extend the length according to the student needs or requirements.

- Spanish for Spanish Teachers
Addressed to: Graduated Spanish as a Second Language Professors, Graduated Spanish Students, primary and high school Spanish teachers.

Description: This program is aimed to offer better tools for the professionals on Spanish as a Second Language teaching, so they can improve their skills for language teaching and make the learning process more efficient and enjoyable. The program covers a basic levels general review, material and activities elaboration, class planning techniques. Also it covers Latin American literature and it's teaching, intonation and pronunciation, composition and listening practice that are directed to improve the professionals on SSL abilities for teaching, not just the language but the Hispanic culture.
