The hotel makes part of Minsk International Education Center (German abbreviation IBB), which composes a restaurant, a hotel and a business center. The center was opened on the initiative of German IBB in Dortmund. Back in 1988 it conceived an idea of an educational center in Belarus, which will host international cooperation and meetings.
The initiative was supported by Belarus, mainly by tourist bureau “Sputnik”. The project is financed by the government of Northern Rhine –Westphalia, Evangelical Church of Westphalia as well as many private persons and organizations. The basement of IBB was laid in 1991 and the center was inaugurated in 1994.
The IBB center was designed by architect Richard Pierschke. He used the constructivism ideas of 1920s. A picture of legendary Belarusian Kazimir Malevich “House under construction” was the central point in the concept of Westphalian architect. The expressive minimalism of architecture and interior reflects the principal idea of constructivism as a combination of simplicity, harmony and integrity. Simple and clear forms, large windows starting from the floor, plenty of light and free space… This is a home in the common home of Europe with its doors always open!
IBB today is a perfectly equipped place for cooperation, education and top meetings. We have an impeccable reputation among foreign guest of the hotel, regular customers of Westphalia and Belarusian businessmen, who often organize events in the center.
