Description

Each January, IAU sponsors three J-term Traveling Seminars, varying in location in length. The academic component consists of a series of briefings from leading European academic, literary and political personalities and experts on the European relationship with the Islamic world. Participants will attend daily lectures and meetings with distinguished scholars from IAU in addition to local guides and experts in the field of politics, history and culture.

J-Term: Great Cities will visit Rome, Paris, Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, London and Prague.
J-Term: Europe and the Islamic World will visit Paris, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Marrakech, Rabat, Casablanca, Seville, Granada and Cordoba.
J-Term: Eastern Europe will visit Rome, Naples, Pompeii, Athens, Mycenia, Olympia, Delphi, Heraklion and Istanbul.

Highlights

Credit will be earned in one of the following courses:

* Art History 395: Classical Islam and the European Renaissance
* Cross Cultural Studies 395: Jews, Muslims and Christians in Europe and the Islamic World
* History 395: The Cultural History of Europe and the Islamic World
* Political Science 395: European Politics and the Islamic World.

You also receive lodging in 3 and 4 star hotels, breakfast each day and 11 dinners, entrance fees to all museums and guest lecture venues and intro-European transportation to and from each city.
