i-to-i organized the entire volunteer experience, so it was easy getting from the airport to the volunteer site. The people in Costa Rica were wonderful. Friendly, humorous and helpful! Knowing a bit of Spanish definitely helps you find your way around town on your day(s) off. I would recommend this volunteer trip to anyone who is adventurous and loves to try new things (like surfing)! You need a bit of endurance because you walk a lot and some activities are physically demanding, but you choose how much work you want to do.
The children were the most memorable part of the trip. I taught conversational English to 8-12 year olds who were all extremely eager to learn and we had a lot of fun together! I shouldn't forget to mention my housekeeper Monica's cooking; real Kenyan food in a real Kenyan village!
