  • Description

On this 4 week trip you will spend your first two weeks volunteering in Moshi with young children. As a reward for all your efforts you will spend the next two weeks surrounded by natural beauty and incredible wildlife. You will go on a safari, visit national parks, view stunning beaches and even stay at a real Masai village (we hope you won't mind spending the night in a mud hut). Prepare to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, hippos and more as you travel across the African plains, the cool breeze providing much needed relief from the mid-day sun. Once you have had your fill on the mainland, you will hop on a ferry to get an intimate look at Zanzibar, the magical island known for its white sandy beaches, unique history and fantastically mellow vibe.

    * Project details and why it needs volunteers:
You will be working with a number of orphanages, nurseries and kindergartens in Moshi with children from disadvantaged backgrounds. These projects involve working with young children, generally from the ages of 3 to 6 years old, and activities range greatly day by day! All too often parents cannot afford to take care of their children, especially if they are faced with a combination of poverty and HIV/AIDS. This is the reason why there are so many street children and orphans in Africa. By assisting at these projects you are helping to educate and entertain children who may not receive care and attention elsewhere.

    * Day 1: Arrive in Moshi
After an enjoyable flight you will arrive in Tanzania. Welcome! You will be picked up from the airport and taken to the volunteer house in Moshi, your home for next two weeks. Dinner is included.

    * Day 2: Orientation to the project and Moshi
Today you will have an orientation on life in Tanzania and learn a bit more about the project where you will be working. Breakfast and dinner are included.

    * Day 3 to 7: Volunteering in Moshi
