    What is EPIK?
    EPIK (English Program In Korea), affiliated to the Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology invites responsible and enthusiastic native English speakers to conduct English conversation classes for Korean primary, middle or secondary public school students to promote and strengthen English language education in Korea.

    * Salary: approximately USD 2,000 - USD 2,500/month depending on your qualifications

    Location of Position:
    Public schools and Korean government Educational Institutions throughout South Korea.

    Contract Period:
    * August 19th-2012 August 18th, 2013 (the length of the contract is one year).
    * The contract is subject to renewal thereafter.

    Position Descriptions (Working hours and duties):
    * Working hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
    * Teaching hours: 22 hours (classes) per week during the school hours.
    * Conduct English conversation classes for Korean Public School students and teachers.
    * Prepare teaching materials for English language education.
    * Assist in developing teaching materials for English language education.
    * Assist with activities related to English language education and other extracurricular activities.
    * Assist Korean teachers with their English classes and/or jointly conduct English classes.

  • Qualifications

    EPIK participants require no teaching experience but must meet the following basic eligibility requirements:

    * Be a citizen of a country where English is the primary language: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, UK or USA.
    * Must have studied from the junior high level (7th grade) and resided for at least 10 years or more in one of the above countries.
    * Ethnic Koreans with legal residency in a country where English is the primary language can apply, but must provide proof of English education beginning from the junior high school level.
    * Hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or will be graduating before January 2012) in any discipline from an accredited university.
    * Have the ability and willingness to adapt to Korean culture and living.
    * TESOL/TEFL/Teaching certificate would be an asset.
