Description

The Assistant Editor of the online newspaper is responsible for:

* Working with a team of contributors to maintain news and feature Internet channel for English speakers in and outside Chile.
* Improving traffic through smart selection and following of stories.
* Provide an informative, topical and relevant news-feed to an international audience.
* Ensure that the website is kept current and accurate in its content, using the systems in place (currently Word Press).
* Ensure that all articles have the relevant tags and links, are well presented on the site and are grammatically correct.
* Create daily news for our local radio station.
* Assist in managing a team of writers, encourage ideas and development as well as daily/weekly work-flow.
* Available to write articles, conduct interviews and carry out research when necessary.
* Source pictures royalty free and work in the Word Press Media Library to add all images to articles.
* Balance content, understanding how to incorporate key messages into articles and report without bias.
* Arranging team meetings (bi-weekly) to discuss processes, ideas and roles.

Highlights

* Will liaise with the Sales Team and Events Team to ensure appropriate coverage of our business network is considered for online content.
* Can work with Management Team to ensure the channel strategy is being adhered to and feed in recommendations for continuous improvement.
* Assist print editor on Chile's only English language print newspaper.
