    A delta is a region where land, rivers and sea come together. Throughout the ages, many delta's have developed into important trade and production centres with high population densities. Pivotal in the bachelor program is the topic of area development. Delta managers work on the continued development of coastal areas. The shipping, fishing and tourism industries as well as new housing projects all compete for vital space on the coast. The Delta manager will consolidate the various interests by applying a holistic approach: area development, safety, water management, communications and economic insight as well climatic and legal aspects and process management are all part of this Bachelor program.

    The focus of the lectures is, among others, on water, climate, ecology, environmental planning, legislation and regulations, economic insights, communications and process management. Delta area development requires people that are capable of making integral assessments from a broad perspective and after that are also capable of communicating their assessments in a clear manner. The bachelor of Delta Management pays ample attention to communication with all the actors and stakeholders. Learning to speak the language of the clients, of the professionals with different backgrounds and of other interested parties is of key importance in this.
