Mopti is at the centre of the tourist region of Mali. Lots of daytrips can be made starting from Hotel Flandre. Mopti, the Venice of Mali, with a scenic boat trip on the Niger; bozo villages; Djenné on Monday, the market day, with the beautiful mosque and Fatoma, with an important cattle market, can all be visited within one day. A trekking of a few days in the Dogon region is a must. Sevare has an airport with flights to Tombouctou, Gao and Bamako.
