A beautiful Victorian family run Guest House where we have had the pleasure of welcoming guests from all over the world, we look forward to offering you a warm friendly welcome and a comfortable relaxed atmosphere and accommodation for you to enjoy during your trip to the beautiful Lake District and its many attractions and activities.

We aim to offer a quality stay in Windermere with little extras available. If you want a quiet restful break in friendly surroundings then Holly-Wood is the place for you.

Holly-Wood is set in a quiet residential road in Windermere just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of the quaint village of Windermere in the heart of the Lake District National Park. A short 15 minute stroll down the hill will take you to Bowness-on-Windermere with its many shops, cafes and restaurants. You can also take an enjoyable boat ride on the Lake from the bottom of the hill.

We have several walking books that our guests are more than welcome to borrow. We also have contact with a local Climber who can organise activities from beginners to advanced subject to availability and advanced booking.

We can also recommend several walks in the area within 30 minutes of the door, as well as walks further afield, for some of the views in the area please take a look at our picture gallery page. We also have numerous leaflets on the activities and attractions in and around the Lake District. We can also arrange for half or full day tours of the Lake District with Local knowledgeable companies.

The house is strictly non-smoking through-out and we are sorry that we are unable to accommodate pets. We have a small car park at the rear of the property that can accommodate up to 3 vehicles, we also offer secure storage to keep you cycles safe.

Location

The M6 motorway is just 16 miles away and the main London Glasgow railway line has a stop off at Kendal Oxenholme station where you can catch the local connection to Windermere station.

By road you come off the M6 motorway at Junction 36 and head for Windermere on the A591. Turn left into Windermere itself and soon after the first set of traffic lights turn left again into Ellerthwaite Road. Turn left again into Holly Road.

Holly-Wood Guest House is on your right just before the next intersection.
