Who we are?

Holiday with a Heart is a team of impassioned professionals with a vision to empower positive change and enrich the holiday experience. We work with leading travel companies to help minimise the negative environmental and social impacts of tourism and benefit local communities.

What we do?

Holiday with a Heart organises one day philanthro-trips for travellers while on holiday. Our philanthro-trips help local charities with volunteer and financial support, while providing the traveller with an authentic, rewarding and fun experience that makes a difference.

We are not a holiday provider, nor do we arrange travel. We simply organise philanthro-trips in holiday destinations in an effort to minimise the negative impacts of tourism and make a positive impact on the holiday destination.

Expanding our team

We are looking for experienced team leaders from the UK who are looking for an exciting and challenging role in either: The Gambia, Goa or Turkey.

You will be working for a company that has charity work at the heart of everything it stands for. Our aim is to empower local charities and local people, and as our representative, you will be responsible for helping us to make this a reality.

Your role will be to manage the successful roll out of our volunteer programme in the country in which you are operating and to promote the programme on the ground.

Responsibilities

* Manage up to 15 volunteers per day on two - four days of the week at the charity projects we support. You will be working with children charities and also environmental and conservation projects.
* Promote the programme on the ground, creating new partnerships to promote our experience to appropriate audiences
* Act as the main point of contact for the company on the ground
* Represent the company values at all times
* Be friendly, supportive and approachable and be available by phone during the day at all times
* Act as a mentor to a local person who will be shadowing you to learn how to become a representative
* Manage the volunteer materials, ensuring that they stay in good condition and the stock levels are at satisfactory levels
* Feedback to the UK team every week via a Skype meeting

Commitment

We need you to be able to commit to a placement of 3-6 months depending on the country you will be working in. Placement commence from mid - late December.

We also need you to be able to come to a one week training session in November London before your departure.

What you will get from us?

Before you leave for your experience you will receive a week long comprehensive training session. During this time, you will learn everything you need to know about our company, how to use our systems, how to run the programmes and all the materials you require. We will also provide you with a full briefing of your contacts on the ground.

We will pay for your flights and accommodation. We will also pay you a wage, but this will be based on the living costs of the country in which you are staying. We will also pay for your travel insurance and vaccinations and we will also provide a 24-hour emergency helpline.

Qualifications

You will need to have experience in:

* Leading groups
* Charity work
* Travelling / living abroad It would be preferred if you have worked in the destination before, however this isn't a necessity.
* CRB clearance
* Sales or developing business partnerships experience would also be beneficial
* First Aid trained Desirable, however if you do not yet have the qualification we can provide this training for you.
