    Helping Hands and Beyond is dedicated to making a difference in peoples lives by promoting healthy living through, teaching preventative measures, nurturing, and to foster quality of life. This is provided through services that are directed by volunteers, such as the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of a person. We continue to provide services in our local community and abroad. If you're a warm and caring individual who would like to offer time and talent in helping others to improve individual well-being, builds self-confidence and promotes self esteem, this opportunity is for you!     Helping Hands and Beyond is concerned about issues affecting young people and their communities. Our Goal is to develop plans promoting social diversity awareness, self- confidence and competency. To advocate leadership, mutual respect, dignity and love among all peoples.

    Community Abroad
    Miragoane is a coastal town in Haiti, about 100 kilometers south-west of the capital, Port-au-Prince. A 2 hour ride from the airport to host site. We require high standards of supervision and accommodation, which are verified before you arrive in Haiti.

    Qualifications
    These opportunities are open for all volunteers. We welcome High schools and college students, Teacher, Doctors, Nurses, Dentists, researcher and other experts to assist us with our programs. It is recommended that volunteers interested in these programs can speak a basic French or Creole, or an interpreter will be provided. This will enable greater interaction and communication with both the staff and the patients.

    In order to participate in these programs HHB requires that you:
    - Must be between17years and older.
    - Enjoy providing service and working with others in a challenging environment
    - Dedicated and effective team player.
    - Provide us with a criminal background check

    Professional Qualifications:
    - Doctor of Medicine (MD), Dentists, and Nurses must posse valid, unrestricted license in one of the 50 States in the U.S., District of Columbia (D.C.) the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
    - Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program
    - Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support for Critical Care settings.

  • Qualifications

    Join us July 8-22, 2012 to be an instrument of healing in every way - physical, emotional, spiritual. Volunteers will work independently and as a team in a Hospital/clinic setting treating children and adults. Each person's assignment will be based on your current specialty. For medical providers: Areas of request includes: Emergency room, Surgical, OB/PEDS, Psych, Wound Care and Dental Care. Particular roles include, but are not limited to: patient in-take and health history, triage, patient and community health education, diagnosis and treatment and pharmacy. Non-Medical Volunteers: Non-medical volunteers assist throughout every aspect of clinic. You will work side by side with the medical team throughout the clinics as well as build relationship with the community. All participants are also asked to participate in community education classes. We provide you with a variety of topics or you can choose your own topic to teach a class to the local communities on a topic that will help build and strengthen the people through health and wellness. Lastly, to implement youth enrichment camp offering sports, arts and craft, music, dance, field trips, life skills, personal growth, and team/esteem-building activities to boys and girls ages 5 to 16 years old from poor communities of very little resources.
