Description

This is the latest (experimental) project from the Hellenic Foundation for Youth and Volunteering. In an approximately 2.000 sq.m., (m2), situated in one of the most beautiful frontiers of Athens, we are planning to create a small organic farm. What for? Well for FUN! Do not laugh. Just for fun, just to taste agricultural products with no chemicals, pesticides, using old seeds that aren't modified!

What we are planning? Everything possible, (tss tsss tsss dirty minds you have) well everything legally possible, taking in consideration the limitations of the available area, climatic conditions, water limitation etc. But generally speaking we have no limitation to our / your ideas and enthusiasm.

We are thinking of growing all kind of Mediterranean spices of vegetables, plans, aromatic plans, experimenting in essential oil making, flower extracts, making our own sweets and wood backed bread, our own cheese, maybe wine, and generally speaking anything a farm back in the 18th century used to produce.

Oh YES I shouldn't forget the most important! We would like to try to experiment with alternative energies (even as pioneers and inventors) and production of Bio-diesel.

Highlights

A very creative and funny project, that lets a volunteer experience with almost anything s/he likes in the field of self-making everything! Lots of happening and excursion, fun, group games and community life.

Qualifications

Well you don't need to know anything about these things, we need your hard work and your big smile and of course your enthusiasm, on the other hand if you are or studying to be a farmer or agriculturist, then even better! We will take advantage of your knowledge.
