Arts and Childcare Volunteering in Costa Rica
Description
Volunteering in a community center or school near Quepos on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, you will be helping provide children from disadvantaged communities with the opportunity to learn new skills, express themselves and develop self-confidence through fun and creative activities that many would not otherwise have access to. You will take your own creative workshops and will be free to come up with your own lesson ideas across a variety of different media and art forms.
Creative Arts can play a significant role in in the personal and educational development of underprivileged children. However, due to a lack of resources, schools and education centres often struggle to deliver arts education, so your enthusiasm, ideas and creative streak really can make a difference to lives and futures of the children.
How this program makes a difference:
Creative arts help build the confidence of children from underprivileged communities and give them an opportunity to express their feelings and concerns through fun activities that they rarely have the opportunity to experience. Taking your own arts and craft workshops, you will make a real contribution to the personal and educational development of underprivileged children in Quepos.
Inspired by the work undertaken by the children, you will also create your own unique creative project that showcases the kid's talents and raises the profile of the great work being undertaken by the education centers.
