  • Description

    This private foundation that focuses its efforts on the first stages of child development and education in order to promote equal learning opportunities for impoverished children ages 3 months to 5 years. The foundation operates a network of daily care centers and nursery schools which are part of the new social care system founded by the current President of Chile. Volunteers with backgrounds in psychology, anthropology and social services are particularly needed, although anyone who has an interest in education and enjoys working with children is welcome.

    Volunteers work hand in hand with local people, the children and their families to develop strategies and activities that may contribute toward better education opportunities for the children and enhanced support services for parents.

  • Qualifications

    Spanish skills are very desirable and helpful. Experience or education in counseling, and/or teaching is helpful, but not required. Volunteers must love children and enjoy working with them. Spanish lessons are available for an additional fee prior to beginning the project.
