  • Description

    This volunteer position has to do with helping local community families with putting up forest gardens and coordinating with one of our school's environmental clubs in the province. Volunteers would have enough extra time to mix with the people and learn their culture.

  • Highlights

    Volunteers will go into local communities, meet the families involved in the project and will be involved in advising/giving them first hand information on the setting up, management and maintenance of forest gardens, visit our secondary and primary schools, coordinate their club activities. The club activities will demand a lot of creativity and self reliance from the volunteer.

  • Qualifications

    What we need in the first place is the will to work for humanity. For the Forest Gardens project we require a bachelors degree in environmental science or any related field and for the Schools environmental clubs, we will accept any person who is willing to work with young people in community schools. We think any one can serve provided they are interested. We can also offer some on the spot drilling for those who think they are not well equipped.

    We always think it is good to look for housing that will be comfortable to the volunteer but this actually depends on him/her. We will also be responsible for orientating volunteer on how things are done in the country and part of the fee we can use to prepare their work space and conditions.

He/she is someone who is expected most of the times to use their initiative and intuition to come up with ideas and decisions. Our work hours are moderate and we very much welcome creative ideas mostly when it concerns growth.
