This position has to do with Sensitizing communities on their rights to portable water; teaching them how to treat, obtain and efficiently use water; building their capacities in the lobbying for access to portable water and identification/protection of water sources. Volunteers will therefore be working in communities that have water problems and will be teaching them amongst others, rain water harvesting and water treatment techniques aimed at solving the water problems we are facing in many communities.
Women, young girls and children are the main target here because they are the ones mostly responsible for provision of water in homes. All that the volunteers need to do is have one or two of these communities with which to work and apply the scheme we already have prepared for the specific problems facing that community. This does not however mean that the volunteer is not to use his or her own initiative/experience. We will very much welcome new techniques and methods for tackling these problems but in a case where we find out that a volunteer is not well equipped with required resources we will be glad to put them on the rails.
There is no need for any particular qualification as we have material already prepared which the volunteer would be using for the campaign. However, a BSC in environmental science would be great. But what we need in the first place is the willingness to serve local communities and families. If you have good communication skills then this is a good one for you. Volunteers should be able to express themselves in either English or French. So, anyone who feels like doing something to help our communities get access to portable water is welcome.

We use this to make lives comfortable for volunteers while they're here with us, mostly for attending events and other social activities like excursions and visits.
We are a small organisation and cannot afford stipend for volunteers unless in a case where any of their activities lead to some generation of income.
yes
This is someone who loves to help and share what they know with others. The volunteers are surrounded by very loving people who most often look on them for some solutions to their common problems. The culture is rich and people are open, friendly and kind. There is work during the day and social life in the evenings, with lots of interesting social activities to take part in.

Green Cameroon was founded in 2003 with a mission to Conserve Cameroons rich biodiversity by working on practical solutions to solve conservation problems. We pay close attention to sustainable development, rural community livelihood and contemporary environmental issues. Green Cameroon was formed with a strong commitment to fighting environmental problems in our communities like deforestation, desertification, unsustainable farming practices, improper waste disposal methods, water scarcity, health problems linked to sanitation and general lukewarm attitude towards environmental and sustainable development issues. Green Cameroon helps local community members to live better lives by improving on living standards alongside making scarce resources available for posterity. Our Vision is; healthy ecosystems and local Cameroonian communities that are well equipped with the necessary skills and resources to achieve development without jeopardising the position of future generations.
