Location
Italy: Caserta, Chianti, Florence and 6 other cities
Length of Position
from 1 month to two years
Our language immersion programs are all different, and so the description of the position that the candidate will be required to cover may change significantly.
In few locations we need assistants for a research study on cognitive aspects of bilingual education, and so the candidate may need to devise experiments, collect and process data, and help writing scientific publications.
In most of the locations, the candidates with passion of working with children from 2 to 5 years old would plan and follow day-by-day teaching activities, being responsible for overseeing the children's progress toward their goals, and participating in all of pre-school activities, such that the hours-agreement requirement with the school will be covered.
Moreover, the candidate will also have the opportunity to help the organization with some complementary activities, such as planning teaching material, define marketing strategies, or collect and or analyze data for a research on cognitive aspect of early child education.
In other locations teachers would need to be able to lead a small group of other teachers, or, when fluency in Italian is required, write reports of any sort, and finally, in some other locations, the candidate would just need to have fun playing with children or teenagers.
The Golden Teaspoon will provide you the unique opportunity to live abroad in a beautiful country, gain vital international career experience and interpersonal skills, be a part of interesting research, and, most importantly, to be around kids all day!
Our schools offer teaching assistant, research assistant on bilingual education, training programs and a cross-cultural experience to native speakers of English. While the program is intended for students or recent graduates of Education or Italian, it is also open to those enrolled in other disciplines who would like to have an intercultural experience of work, study or training in one of our Italian language programs.
We have volunteers, internship and long term job opportunities. Fluency in Italian and TESL or TEFL certification are helpful but not required. To apply, please fill out the form on our website. We ask our candidates to write an essay.
If you have experience working with children (2-5), teenagers, with teaching English as a second language or if you have done research on bilingual and child education you are the perfect candidate.
We accept a wide range of candidates for our volunteering, intern and job position, and the salary is highly variable.
