This skilled volunteer internship is tailored towards dental students looking to gain valuable hands-on experience by working alongside professional dentists. The internship enables participants to perform hands on work and assist dentists in their work. More experienced students also have the opportunity to perform tasks ranging from scaling to fillings, depending on their level of experience and education.
Categories of Placements include: Private clinics, dental departments in public hospitals, and in checkup camps.
At the dentist internship, volunteers help professionals in their daily work and activities. Responsibilites and duties will vary in relation to an individual's level of experience and education. Work is 5-6 hours per day, 5 days per week. However, these hours may vary according to the volume of patients visiting the clinic or the location of the hospital. Responsibilites can include:
* Spending time in local schools promoting oral hygiene
* Raising awareness of certain dental problems such as gum disease.
* Assisting with dental check ups
* Hands-on work performing tasks such as scaling, extractions, and fillings
* Helping professional dentists with general task

(3) Encourage travelers to volunteer for the benefit of others and thus to serve as a good-will ambassador to other countries in the world. (4) Encourage travelers from all over the world to come to Israel for ecological and community-based projects, in both the Arab and Jewish sectors, and experience firsthand the unique cultural and natural diversity in this region. (5) Support environmental and humanitarian projects that promote understanding and good will between ethnic societies in Israel. (6) Conduct further research in the field of ecological tourism, such as the 'Ecological Footprint' as a tool for sustainable tourism development. (7) Establish an in-depth and up-to-date data base of the relevant projects worldwide. (8) Create a platform from which to explore the various organizations that support the environment and actively encourage volunteering.
