  • Description

This conservation project in Australia is composed of many smaller projects, which allows you to tour the country and participate in a number of different conservation efforts. The more time you take to volunteer, the more you will be able to do and see, and the more places you can visit!

Some examples of volunteer placements include:

    - 2 weeks in Victoria, helping with land restoration, and boardwalk construction along the fabulous Great Ocean Road
    - 4 weeks in the Northern Territory working with National Parks along the coast or in the rainforest
    - 6 weeks in Alice, travelling to Ayers Rock, controling invasive weeds, or helping with bird surveys
    - 6 weeks in Queensland, visiting World Heritage-listed Fraser Island for boardwalk construction, then to Brisbane for urban conservation such as tree planting and weed control, followed by rainforest reforestation.

Whether you are interested in tree planting, seed collection, construction and maintenance, or endangered flora and fauna and habitat restoration, we have a program to suit your needs in Australia. Volunteers usually spend 1-2 weeks at each project site before moving on to another.

Accommodation will vary with each project, but may include caravans, guest houses, sharers' quarters, hostels, and camping (with provided tents). Food is supplied 3 meals a day, and everyone on the project helps with cooking and cleaning.

  • Highlights

Australia is an immensely biodiverse region of the world and varies from vast desert lands to lush rainforests, or breathtaking beaches. Visit 100 year old giant trees in Tasmania, or see the famous Sydney Opera House. Use your free time to explore the vast Australian Outback, or just lay back and enjoy the scenery by the coast.
