    Study abroad for a semester or a year at the University of Limerick with GlobaLinks Learning Abroad, formerly known as EuroLearn. Your study abroad experience is all about you! GlobaLinks Learning Abroad is here to help you in your exploration throughout the study abroad experience. Our programs are designed so that our local and overseas staff are available 24 hours a day to support you in health and safety matters and enhance your study abroad experience. Through our planned activities and resident directors personal recommendations for activities you can undertake while abroad, you will be directed on a path of personal, academic, cultural, social, and professional discovery. This team, which supports you throughout your experience, will ensure that you have the most fulfilling experience possible one that is unique to you!

    What Will You Discover?

    The University of Limerick (UL) was established in 1972 as the National Institute for Higher Education, Limerick and classified as the University of Limerick in 1989. The University of Limerick is an independent, internationally focused university with over 11,300 students and 1,300 staff. It is a young, energetic and enterprising university with a proud record of innovation in education and excellence in research and scholarship.The University of Limerick offers study abroad students a wide range of academic programs in the disciplines of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Business, Education and Health Sciences, Science and Engineering. The university system is similar to the U.S. style of education with courses/modules equal to 3 U.S. semester credits and a two semester academic calendar. EuroLearn students are required to take 5 courses for a total of 15 U.S. semester credits.

    GlobaLinks Learning Abroad is a leader in the field of international education with a 20 year history sending over 20,000 students abroad. GlobaLinks Learning Abroad's excellent student services and support will provide you with a successful abroad experience.

    Our programs are located in unique destinations within the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe. Most of our partner universities are in smaller towns that offer an intimate connection to the local culture. Plus, our lower program fees will allow you to experience Europe for less. All the essential services are still provided, so you get the best value for your money.

  • Highlights

    Special Programs and Excursions

    Three day long cultural excursions are offered each semester and included in the program fee. These are field trips to places of historical and literary interest. A visit to Dublin is offered each semester with the spring trip coinciding with St. Patrick's day celebrations. Occasionally raffles and tickets to the theatre and/or sporting events are offered to students via their UL student email account. These tickets to musical performances, museums, and theatres tickets are offered for a low cost or sometimes free to all Study Abroad students. For Autumn/Fall students the Study Abroad office also organizes a thanksgiving dinner and all Study Abroad students are invited. This dinner is provided free of charge to Study Abroad Students and has proved to be a huge success with students in the past. The Study Abroad Office also liaises with the International Society to promote other affordable trips which Study Abroad students may participate in.

    U.S. University Transcript option is available through our School of Record, University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.

    GlobaLinks Learning Abroad offers a multi-day Bridging Cultures Program (in country). This program blends discussion, cultural exploration, and social gatherings for an informative and fun introduction to the country in which students will be living and studying abroad.

    GlobaLinks Learning Abroad staff in the U.S. and abroad are available 24 hours a day for support of students, parents, and advisors. In addition to our London-based Resident Director, GlobaLinks Learning Abroad provides bilingual support staff at several of our sites in Europe to ensure that assistance is available in times of need and crisis.

  • Program Fees Include:

    Program Fees include tuition for full-time semester status, university and program administrative fees, membership in the student union (where applicable), health insurance, and the Bridging Cultures Program. Fees include all pre-departure services such as: orientation materials, immigration guidance, housing placements, personal advising, subject selections, liaise with your home university, credit transfer assistance, and financial aid services.
