GlobaLinks Learning Abroad is here to assist you throughout the study abroad experience. Our programs are designed so that our local and overseas staff are available 24 hours a day to support you in health and safety matters and enhance your study abroad experience. Through our planned activities and resident directors' personal recommendations for activities you can undertake while abroad, you will be directed on a path of personal, academic, cultural, social, and professional discovery. This team, which supports you throughout your experience, will ensure that you have the most fulfilling experience possible one that is unique to you!

    What Will You Discover?

    Queen Mary is one of the largest colleges of the internationally renowned University of London. The College has a student population of over 14,000 students, around 20% of whom are from overseas, contributing to a truly cosmopolitan environment that is extremely welcoming to students from all over the world. Queen Mary is one of London and the UK's leading research-focused higher education institutions. Queen Mary's 3,000 staff deliver world class degree programmes and research across a wide range of subjects in Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, and in Science and Engineering.

    Queen Mary is a campus based university and all study abroad students are offered housing on campus giving every opportunity for you to fully integrate with other Queen Mary students. Studying and living on the Queen Mary campus gives all the benefits of a campus community as well as the limitless opportunities of living in London.

    The Queen Mary campus is located in the East End of London, one of the oldest and most socially and ethnically diverse areas of the capital. The religious, cultural and ethnic mix displays itself in a huge variety of shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and markets that would be hard to match anywhere else in the UK. It's also located near the site of the 2012 London Olympics.

  • Highlights

    The Students' Union also operates the Provide volunteering programme. Through Provide you can find volunteering opportunities working with a wide variety of organisations and charities in the local area and all over London. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people in the wider community and can greatly enrich your experience of London life.

    All study abroad participants are guaranteed on-campus housing, mostly in the recently completed, award-winning student village.

    Optional visits and events are offered during the semester, usually including a trip to a match at one of London's football stadiums. Additional trips around London and the UK are also organized by the College and the Residences, meaning there are plenty of events and trips students can participate in.

    U.S. University Transcript option is available through our School of Record, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

    GlobaLinks Learning Abroad offers a multi-day Bridging Cultures Program (in country). This program blends discussion, cultural exploration, and social gatherings for an informative and fun introduction to the country in which students will be living and studying abroad.

    GlobaLinks Learning Abroad staff in the U.S. and abroad are available 24 hours a day for support of students, parents, and advisors. In addition to our London-based Resident Director, GlobaLinks Learning Abroad provides bilingual support staff at several of our sites in Europe to ensure that assistance is available in times of need and crisis.
