  • Description

Travel the world as an English teaching volunteer! While formal English language training is provided by classroom teachers at every work site, the volunteers work as resources in the classroom - helping with pronunciation, preparing for skills tests, assisting with homework, and the like. Some teams also have the opportunity to work in small groups with adults who are hoping to improve their English skills to develop or advance their careers. In addition to assisting in the classroom, volunteers may participate on field trips, conduct "role-play" exercises, coordinate skits (in English!) and the like. It's a fun, productive volunteer experience whether for one, two or three weeks. Tax-deductible service program fees range from USD 1,295 - USD 2,595. Discounts are available.

  • Highlights

Many communities in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America ask Global Volunteers to assist with English-language development projects. Often teaching is done through simple conversation along with a local teacher or at intensive summer camps where lessons take place in a variety of non-traditional settings. No teaching experience is required. In addition, you're needed to teach a variety of subjects by simply sharing experiences on the job, at school or hobbies. Teaching opportunities with students of all ages are available for science, art, computers, secretarial skills, agriculture, drafting and auto repair. In all cases, no teaching experience is required. These are great family opportunities!

  • Qualifications

You must be a native English speaker, but you are not required to have previous teaching experience. If you have energy, an open mind, and are willing to serve as part of a team and take direction from local leaders, you will make a positive contribution to a volunteer English teaching program in Europe, Asia, Africa or Latin America.
