  • Description

For those with little time to spare, but who still want to volunteer, this is a great opportunity to make a real difference while traveling in Thailand. You can volunteer with local communities and school children in a stunning part of Thailand, famed for its beautiful beaches, to help them learn English as a means of assisting them to take control of their own local development. Join GVI on this short term project in Thailand and volunteer to assist communities that are rapidly developing or are participating in community based tourism as a means of preserving their own unique culture. Optional TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) courses are also available, including an introduction to TEFL and a more advanced certificate, for those wanting a more immersing experience.

How this program makes a difference:

GVI's volunteers assist at the local schools and in the community, giving Thai teachers and students the opportunity to practice their English skills with fluent English speakers. With practice students gain confidence and interest in the English language giving them skills that will increase their opportunities for education and employment in the future. For those volunteers staying in home stays you will help your host family and community gain valuable skills that will help them continue to support and develop their local community based tourism projects. This is an incredible opportunity to exchange culture and language.
