  • Description

The International Business Program at The American Business School in Paris is designed to offer a wide range of business-related study abroad electives to GSE participants, while also encouraging language development and the ability to enroll in other general electives of interest or courses that are required for major, minor, or general education requirements.

There is no language prerequisite for attending The American Business School, and the program is available to students of all language levels, including beginners. All students will enroll in a French language course; the level of instruction for each student will be determined by a placement exam at the beginning of the program.

Students will also enroll in up to four electives of their choice, all taught in English. Each course meets for a total of 45 contact hours and is typically worth 3 semester credits. For one semester, students should expect to earn 12-15 units (a total of 180-225 contact hours).

  • Highlights

Paris is Frances capital and is widely considered to be the most stylish and romantic city in Europe, and perhaps the world. Paris has long been the cultural and commercial hub of France, reflected by the citys urban planning and proud citizens. Grand boulevards, beautiful gardens, and magnificent monuments show the city's pride and grandeur, while secretive alleys tucked away hide colorful markets and old-fashioned pedestrian arcades.

Always trendy and hip, Paris is continually dictating style to the rest of the world and is home to many top designers, including Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent and Jean-Paul Gaultier. When the sun sets, the citys vibrant nightlife springs into action, as theatres and concert halls host inventive, world-class productions of music, dance and drama. French café culture continues late into the night, joined by hundreds of first class restaurants, brasseries, and night clubs. With so much to take in, there is never a dull moment in the City of Lights.

"My favorite activities sponsored by GSE were the weekend excursions to Giverny and Nice. Our Onsite Program Director was very helpful and organized. [The trips] were very well-planned and it made traveling the country effortless for the students. I am very pleased with my choice to study abroad with GSE and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a program. Thank you for the great opportunities you provided for me!" --GSE participant from Baldwin-Wallace College
