  • Description

GSC offers Service-Learning Programs in HIV/AIDS Prevention Education, International Health, Orphanage Care, Teaching English Abroad, as well as Integrated Programs. All participants begin their program with one week of orientation, which includes specified technical training, Khmer language lesson, culture and history lessons and site seeing. Volunteers can participate in short-term or long-term programs, depending on their program interest. Students who wish to obtain academic credit for their work abroad may also inquire about internships available through GSC. All of the Service-Learning Programs entail a one-week orientation, which will include technical training specific to the chosen program.

  • Highlights

Once in-country, the GSC Cambodian staff will provide participants with additional training on what to expect in the classroom, suggested activities and games, as well as classroom management techniques. All participants will receive an initial week of orientation, which includes technical training, Khmer language lessons, and culture and history lessons about Cambodia. In addition, volunteers will have the chance to visit the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, the National Museum, the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, and the Killing Fields at Cheoung Ek. During one of the weekends, participants will go on a three-day visit to Angkor Wat, or a two-day trip to visit the local sites around Phnom Penh.
