    Be amazed by the ancient culture and natural beauty of Belize. You will be able to experience the diversity and richness of the beautiful villages. You will also spend a weekend in Guatemala exploring the impressive ruins and monkey-inhabited rainforest of Tikal, a vast, grandly-excavated Mayan city.

    * Join the people of a small village in creating a public library or school cafeteria to serve local youth.
    * Climb the pyramids, temples and fortress walls of the ancient Mayan ruins of Xunantunich and Tikal.
    * Enjoy lively dinner conversations in the home of your rural Belizean family.
    * Snorkel along the second largest barrier reef in the world in the emerald green waters of the island Cayes.

  • Program Fees Include:

    Travel expenses to and from Belize City are not included in the program fee. Global Routes arranges group travel. Round trip airfare from New York to Belize City will be approximately USD 450. Please note that quoted airfares do not include taxes and airline surcharges, which are subject to change and can be significant. Students are also encouraged to raise monies to help fund their service projects.

    Global Routes offers community-service/cross-cultural exchange programs for North American high-school and college students throughout the world. Students immerse themselves in the life of a small, rural community as they live with a local family and teach in the village school, build a community meeting house or participate in other service projects.
