Description

This placement is with a highly specialized government body, which works to investigate and implement the increase the quality of stock of Llamas, Vacunas and Alpacas in this Andean Region. Since the agrarian revolution in the mid 20th Century, there has been a lot of loss of knowledge and experience of how to best manage Llama and Alpaca livestock. This government body was formed to reintroduce good livestock practice into the local population, investigate new and better ways to increase the quality of livestock, and implement initiatives to help develop this industry.

You will be afforded the opportunity to work alongside local scientists, project staff and farmers. There a number of different activities you can participate in, including;

Qualifications

* Min age 18 - Max age 80
* Minimum 3 months commitment - 25+ hours a week.
* Enthusiasm, interest and prior knowledge in Zootechnia, veterinary science, biology or any other relevant subjects
* Good level of Spanish
