Description

You will help children in small groups with speaking, listening, writing,reading, grammar and vocabulary lessons. You may also be asked to give private tuition.

As a volunteer teacher, you may either teach a class on your own or you may act as a teacher's assistant within the class room. Depending on your experience with teaching and your level of comfort in the classroom, you will be assigned a specific role.

You will assist the English language teachers with lesson planning, pronunciation exercises, conversation, etc. Our teaching volunteer project will provide you with invaluable classroom and language experience.

Accommodation:
You will be staying in the newly built Volunteer Guesthouse. You will have; Internet and Wi Fi. Kitchen, bathrooms, storage closet, bar/common area, tourist information, laundry service, DVD room, library, book exchange, housekeeping service. Located in a renovated historic building with a great atmosphere in the heart of the city, you are extremely close to the subte (subway), buses, and trains.

There is no curfew, and you will have a real chance to practice Spanish and immerse yourself in Argentine culture with students and people who conduct workshops for youth and adults. If you want, you can participate in interesting meetings, dinner and movie parties with other volunteers.

Highlights

This project will put you in a classroom full of eager to learn children. Teaching English to children can be quite challenging, but very rewarding. It is a great way to experience Argentine culture whilst making a difference to some young lives.

* Min age 18
* Minimum 1 month commitment - 15-20 hours a week.

Salary/Pay

This is a Self-funded Volunteer Placement. Cost:120 USD for 1 month placement. Includes 24 hour support, 2 day orientation to Buenos Aires - Does not include accomodation or food. Accommodation starts at 100 USD a week including 3 meals a week. You should budget around USD5-10 a day for food.
