  • Description

Thailand has long been a favourite destination for TEFL teachers for its combination of gorgeous beaches and islands, excellent cuisine, affordable cost of living and the friendliness of the Thai people. This unique programme allows you to join in on the action with paid work as an English teacher. And with many schools and language centres throughout Thailand to choose from you can be assured your experience will be as unique and tailored to your needs as possible.

The programme includes a two-week teacher training course leading to a TEFL certificate, which will arm you not only with all the necessary teaching theories, techniques, and practice in an intercultural context. After orientation and teacher training your placement- and your adventure in Thailand- begins.

  • Highlights

Bangkok Weekend: You will start your teaching experience in Thailand with a cycle & boat tour of Bangkok, providing you with a good knowledge of the city and a chance to get to know your fellow participants. You will have some free time to go shopping and experience the nightlife of one of the world's most exciting cities.

Singburi: In order to help you become a committed and confident teacher, we provide you with a 2-week Introduction and training period in Singburi. The training will be focused on how to manage a class, what to teach and how teachers are expected to behave in a Thai classroom. You will observe lessons from Thai teachers and also from other foreign teachers, get to meet local students and visit nearby schools as part of the training.

Additionally the training provides opportunities to learn about Thai culture and customs and partake in local excursions. You will also benefit from some 'survival' Thai lessons which will help you get by during your time in the country.

You will then practice teaching your peers and also in the local schools in the area. This is to make sure you are confident in the classroom before beginning your teaching placement. You will then have earned your TEFL certificate.

    The School Placement:

You will be advised of your placement during the training period. It is the schools that determine the placements through selection based on your application. Placement is guaranteed upon the completion of the training programme. Please note that placements cannot be changed once approved. In your school you will be assigned a contact person who will provide you with professional and personal support.

    The Schools:
Schools are usually large, with between 1,000 and 5,000 students. The schools are a mixture of private schools and government schools.

    * Schools offer many after school activities for students
    * Class sizes will vary and may be up to 50 students
    * Schools generally have good equipment and resources, even though English resources are limited.
