Description

You will be working with an international NGO based in Mexico City, that develops and implements health and life skills programs to improve the lives of those living in poverty. Our work is carried out in the following program areas: HIV/AIDS and development; children, parents and teachers; sexuality and reproductive health; gender, health, violence and rights; capacity building and microenterprise.

Our programs contribute to sustainable human development and allow individuals to take control of their own health, productivity and lives.

Through this unique experience--an excellent opportunity to apply your business strategy skills to the nonprofit sector--you will develop innovative solutions to help an established international NGO solve its marketing challenges and achieve real results. We are looking to expand our financial base and needs creative thinkers to help us reach our goals.

Highlights

We are looking for interns with a keen marketing sense who are also interested in international development. Advanced proficiency in Spanish is required, as is being web-savvy. Internet design experience is a plus.

Interns may work in a variety of fields including fundraising, public relations, and program/institutional marketing.
Specific projects and responsibilities will be agreed based on current needs and the candidate interests.

Possible tasks may include some of the following:
- Conceiving and implementing communications and marketing strategies
- Optimizing internet-based social networking
- Analyzing the donor market to identify potential sources of funding
- Conducting market research for expansion of non-grant funded, income generating initiatives
- Developing or enhancing program materials with a focus on the "sell"

Salary/Pay

Unpaid, though you will be given assistance in locating accommodation and, in very limited cases, will consider providing a basic stipend to highly qualified candidates willing to commit to longer-term academic year internships.
