This Law Internship is an invaluable preparation for your legal career. It is designed for law undergraduate or recent graduates who wish to gain experience in a competitive legal environment.

Our International Law Internship is designed to enhance and reinforce knowledge and skills acquired in law school; providing you with the ability to apply such knowledge and skills to a professional work environment, with the opportunity to acquire new insights relevant to the practice of law and/or the development and implementation of policy in an international setting, and/or to the practice of international law broadly construed. Our legal or law internship is designed primarily for the benefit to you, rather than your host placement.

We offer a wide variety of legal placements in Ecuador; from prestigious NGOs in the legal department, Attorney's offices, commercial offices, etc. in areas of Civil, Tributary Law, Corporate Law, Commercial Law, Real Estate Law, Labor Law, Mining and Oil Law, Financial, Banking and Insurance Law, Intellectual Property, Merger and Acquisitions, Foreign Investment and Transfer of Technology. Our partners and host placements welcome students and professionals in the day-to-day legal practices.

Our placements are specifically tailored to utilize the skills and experience that you have already acquired. They will give you an all-round exposure to South America law practice, with the opportunity to observe, learn and gain excellent experience.

Highlights

You will work side-by-side with the local staff and be involved in the daily legal duties of the attorney's offices or NGOs. Depending on your specialty, enthusiasm and aptitude to learn, you will participate in:

* preparing, checking and revising legal documents
* accompany your supervisor and clients to different public offices
* interviewing clients
* carry out legal research
* prepare correspondence
* write legal memorandum and articles
* draft documents etc.

Our attorney/lawyer partners in Ecuador will be eager for you to get involved.

Qualifications

Participants with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

* Real interest in law and legal issues
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
* Good knowledge and use of Microsoft software tools.
* Good organizational skills and attention to detail
* Outgoing personality and sense of humor
* Professional demeanor.

General requirements

* Min age 18 - Max age 60
* Minimum 2.5 months commitment - 40 hours a week.
* Intermediate Spanish (Lessons available)
