    We are able to offer two placements within a small hotel group. One placement is in a new modern boutique hotel. The other is in a modern, limited service apartment hotel, designed with self catering units in all bedrooms. You will be able to choose between the two placements depending upon your interests and abilities.

    The modern boutique hotel opened its doors less than two years ago, and is already rated by its guests as the top hotel in this busy and competitive town centre location. The company also offers apartment-style self catering units in which you can also opt to work. Having cut out all but a small breakfast offering, this service is ideal for guests either needing a quick one night stop or those who need to spend several weeks at a time in the local area, at a more affordable price.

    The hotels are located in a popular busy airport town, only half an hour by train from central London. Independently owned and managed, these hotels operate differently from more mainstream international brands. Customer relationship management and the provision of excellent customer service are essential in this competitive market.

  • Highlights

    You will be working in a small team, and assisting them in providing the necessary daily administrative and operational tasks, required for the smooth running of the hotels. The hotels work on a shift pattern basis, with varying times during the day of starting and finishing. The hotels provide a warm welcome and a convenient and efficient way of running a business.

    A typical day will include 5 - 8 hours 'on the job'. You should be prepared to be at the hotel five days out of seven in any given week. In addition to the tasks above, you can get involved in various project work. The hotels management are very open and encourage the best in their teams. You may even get to try out that great idea of yours!

    Improving your customer service skills and learning the operations of a variety of departments, the teams here all assist in each other's departments, providing an excellent opportunity to learn the business inside out. This internship will expose you to the following experiences:

    * How to provide a level of customer service consistent with the product
    * The hotels computer management system
    * Front of house administration & customer reception
    * Room's sales
    * Internet marketing
    * Handling guest enquiries
    * Facilities management
    * Restaurant and Bar work
    * Kitchen duties

  • Qualifications

    Applicants for these hotels must have previous customer service experience or be studying a related business course. Working in these busy hotels will provide you with the skills to further your development and career in your chosen field, and will greatly develop your understanding of the daily management of a service led business.

    * Excellent appearance and presentation
    * Able to hold a Skype or telephone interview
    * Minimum 3 months commitment - 40+ hours a week.
    * Enthusiasm and interest to work in Hospitality
