My GLA adventure to Ghana
Submitted by Atoosa Haghani - West springfield High School | January 04, 2017
I had a blast in Odumase, Ghana. Prior to going on this trip I thought I wouldn't get as much cultural exposure; however, on the contrary, this trip made me see a world in a new way. I put aside the myopic view on 3rd world countries and indulged in the rich culture of Ghana and their ever so happy people. This trip is by far the best decision I've made in 2016. It has taught me to be thankful for all I have and was a severely safe and friendly trip. I cannot thank my mentors enough for guiding me and my fellow peers whom might I add are still in touch with me from the journey I'll never forget.

Global Leadership Adventures: Galapagos

Last summer I went on a trip to the Galapagos with Global Leadership Adventures. Never once did I feel unsafe while in the hands of my leaders. The trip was well organized and impacted me very positively. GLA helped me realize so much about the world around. I definitely recommend this trip to anyone willing to step outside of their comfort zone and embrace a different culture.
GLA Galapagos – trip of a lifetime!

Last summer I went on GLA's Galapagos 2-week summer program. It was an amazing life-changing experience! During the program, we worked in various conservation camps on the Galapagos islands. Our main objective was to clear land for the endemic giant tortoises that inhabit the island, and help stop the spread of invasive species and pollution. Through this, I have learned the importance of environmental conservation and the little things I can do to help protect the Earth in the long run. I highly recommend this program to any student willing to go out of their comfort zone and help make a difference in Earth's endangered ecosystems, it was truly a trip of a lifetime.
Volunteering meets fun!

My Global Leadership Adventures trip was such a phenomenal experience, I'll never forgot the magic of traveling to what felt like a new world. GLA staff is so helpful answering questions before the trip, and the mentors on the trip were all so friendly and some of the coolest adults I know. I loved the way we were given opportunities to interact with the locals, and the volunteer work to fun/free time ratio was perfect! I recommend this trip to all of my friends whenever they mention volunteer opportunities, and genuinely believe you cannot find a better program to travel with.

An amazing experience

GlA has been a great experience for my daughter. She learned a lot about the Dominican Republic culture and the challenges the community faces there while having an opportunity to make a lot of new friends and enjoy the beautiful island. It was amazing to see how much she matured in a short time and how much her view of the world has broadened since that trip. We are already planning her next trip to Belize.
